Bathtime

I took Mikey's infant net out of his bathtub and let him sit up today. Of course, he loved it! He's still a little shaky, but he had fun playing.

I Miss The Office

I really miss new episodes of The Office and can't wait until the writer's strike ends!

Happy Thanksgiving!

It has been a really hot fall here in Arizona, and it's finally getting cold and we have turned on our heat! But it felt like fall in our house, especially on Thanksgving day. I have already confessed about my nightmares about burning the dinner, so here is the outcome.

Our table was set and ready to go hours before dinner.

Mikey played in his swing and with his toys while mommy and daddy cooked.

While we weren't cooking we watched football, FRIENDS Thanksgiving episodes and Michael organized his sports cards (he found a Michael Jordan rookie card!) from when he was young.

This was the feast! It's pretty amazing but we didn't burn a thing!

This was the dessert I made. We don't like pumpkin pie in our house so I made a trifle. (FRIENDS fans: I didn't put in beef or potatoes : )It was soooo good. I definitely recommend it. Here's a link to the recipe if you want!

Okay, so, the day after Thanksgiving we set up all of our Christmas decorations. I was especially excited for a particular item. Last Christmas when I was pregnant with Mikey I went to Target after Christmas for their amazing sales. I found this huge stocking with stuffed animals and balls in it and I thought it would be so cute for him to play with this year. Yesterday we opened it up and I guess I didn't look closely enough because it was a huge stocking made for a dog. Yep! We let our son play with dog toys. He likes the toys so much that I haven't taken them away yet...

Except for the rope and the tennis ball...that just felt wrong!

Okay, so now I am finally done! Happy Holidays everyone!

Shots

Mikey had his shots on Friday. He did really well, actually. He cried for a few minutes but then he didn't remember that anything happened. He was happy as can be. My thought of him being too heavy to carry in his carseat were confirmed. He weighs 15 pounds and 11 ounces and is 27 inches long. I don't know if that's average or not for a five month old, but he's growing fast to me! Typical me, I forgot to ask percentiles at the doctor. I don't know where my brain went...somewhere with my pregnant belly : ) We're getting excited for Thanksgiving. I'm so worried about burning my first turkey that I'm having nightmares. We'll see how it goes in a couple days!

The Mikey Update

Nothing much is new around here, just the same old same old, but Mikey is doing a lot of this lately, and we think it is pretty funny : )

Christmas already?

Hey, so I know it's a bit early, well, really early, but I've caught the Holiday Season Bug. Usually it hits before Halloween. My sister and I used to have to sneak our Christmas music because my mom didn't want to hear it until after Thanksgiving. We like our Christmas music early in our family. This year I was wondering what was wrong with me when Halloween came around and, nothing. But I guess with Thanksgiving coming up, it's helped me get in the mood (hence the Christmas music added onto my playlist at the bottom of this page) So now I'm on my blog writing a mindless address to no one in particular about what I love and what I miss....

We are spending Christmas with our own little family in Mesa this year...so in advance to all our family...we will miss you!

Mikey's First Photo Shoot

Mikey had his first professional photos taken of him last Saturday. He did really well, even though he was hungry and tired because we got in an hour after our appointment. Don't mean to overload you with pictures, but what kind of a mother would I be if I didn't?

They put this together for us, I love it!

By the end, he'd had enough...it's sad and cute at the same time...but he was a cute little trooper and I think he looks great!

Ya, So I have never responed to being tagged, but for lack of anything else to post, here goes:

Six Things About Me:

1. Of course, I love my husband and my cute baby Mikey. I wouldn't have a life without them and they are my happiness.

2. I hate that noise that people make when they eat bananas. You know, the slimy smacky noise. Sometimes the same noise is heard when people rub their eyes. Ew gross!

3. I love the news. Almost in a creepy way according to my husband. I think Tom Brokaw has the nicest voice and that Brian Williams was hillarious on SNL. I wonder if I'd be this way if it wasn't my major, but I love a good story!

4. I am an advertisers dream. Anytime a commercial comes on for food, even if I just ate, I want to eat it. Good thing I don't...but I want to.

5. I love to read. I wish I could read a book a day and still have time to spend with Mikey. I have a goal to read all the books on Harvard's top 100 list, all the U.S President's biography's, and a bunch of LDS books that would take too long to list, before I die. I'm working on it. If anyone has a good book, send the title my way, you'll make my day!

6. I'm a neat freak. I think my husband rubbed off on me. I make the bed as soon as I get up and I need everything to be in its perfect place. I'm sure this will get harder as Mikey starts to travel around the house, but for now, it works.

Who's My Cutie Baby?

Family, Baby food, Two Geeks and a Bumble Bee

Wow, what a week! We have had so much fun! Last weekend, Michael's parents and his sister Lindsay came to visit us. It was a fun weekend and we really appreciate them coming. Mikey, had a blast as well.

Also last week, Mikey started eating baby food. He loves it and has become a little chunk. I think he's doubled his rolls since his first bite!

Yesterday was Mikey's five month birthday and his first Halloween. He was the cutest bumble bee we'd ever seen and he was too young to be embarassed by his geeky parents.
