Better Late Than Never

I know I promised pictures of my parents when they visited from Utah, so here's the post. Turns out, I took a lot of video and only a couple pictures...none of which really turned out. It really was a fun trip though, and I've learned my lesson and will take better pictures next visit. One thing we always do during a visit with my mom is a craft. Those of you who know her know that she is one of the most creative people on the planet. I can't compare to anything she does, but she does bring out the crafty side in me. We made birthday books so you can list the birthdays of the people you know. It was a fun project. Thanks, mom!

Fourth Of July

This was Mikey's second 4th of July but his first that he could really enjoy. He did really well. He ate more food than me at the barbeque and pointed at the fireworks the whole time. As soon as it was over, he cried the whole way home because it was past his bedtime, but I think he had a good time.

Twilight

I said I'd never read these books.
I borrowed it from my sister-in-law yesterday.
I read it in one day.
Can't wait to read the next one.
I am a follower....

Arizona to California Randomness

So, ya, I know. I haven't posted in a while. I've been busy moving and helping Mikey adjust and I am now just thinking about letting everyone in on what we've been doing.
This is Mikey at his messiest right before we moved. He was eating beans and rice and in a matter of seconds he ended up looking like this.

For the last few months that we were in Arizona, I have been running with some girls in my ward. It was seriously one of the hi-lights of my day. They are the best women and I am SO glad to know them. Some of them had kids close to Mikey's age and they were so cute when they played together. This is my friend Amy's son Ruger. He would get so excited to have someone to play with that he would end up pushing Mikey down (which is what he is doing in this picture). He is a real sweetheart though.

These are four boys that Mikey is friends with. My friend called them the blonde terrors and I couldn't agree more at times : )

(Nathan, Ruger, Mikey, Lance)

This is Mikey's older friend Andrew. He makes Mikey laugh SO hard!

Aren't these the CUTEST boys ever!?! These are my friend Tiffany's sons Isaac and Cameron. Tiffany was my first friend in the ward and she is one of the best friends I've had. Michael and her husband Tyler got along as well so it was a pretty fun situation. We really should have done more together. Mikey REALLY misses his friends and I REALLY REALLY miss mine! (tear...)

For those of you who don't know why we moved back to California, Michael got transfered to the Lancaster campus of UOP. These are Michael's co-workers at a going away party for him on his last day. He was really sad to leave them. They were really good to him.

Since we have been here it has already been SO nice to have my sister nearby again. Mikey loves Elizabeth. He is always going up to her and smiling and giving her kisses. They are so cute together. This is Mikey in Elizabeth's swimming pool. He LOVES it!

Elizabeth...not so much. He splashed a little too much for her liking.

Mikey was happy regardless. He's not so sensitive to other people's needs yet : )

Elizabeth forgave him though and they played and watched Baby Beethoven together. I think that is Mikey's new favorite movie.

Just looking at them you can't tell they are cousins. It's pretty funny that they are so opposite.

So now we are living with Michael's parents and looking for a house. Mikey is FINALLY getting used to being somewhere new and he is his usual smiling self. We were lucky enough to have my parents visit for almost a week a couple days after we got here. I will post pictures of that trip later. Mikey had fun being with his grandparents. I love seeing that he warms up to them so fast. Family ties are strong. Thanks for coming all the way here mom and dad!

Happy Father's Day!

I had the blessing of getting the best parents in the world. Today I just have to say how much I love my dad. He is such a good example to his family and I thank Heavenly Father for him every day. Try and relax today, dad! We love you!

Michael's dad is awesome too. He is so nice and funny and generous. He works so hard and doesn't take any time to himself. You better relax today, too!

Michael is a better father than I could've hoped for. Mikey just loves him and it's fun to see. He runs to him when he gets home from work and if Mikey and I wake up before Michael, Mikey bangs on the bedroom door until Michael lets him in. He just can't get enough of his daddy! Happy Father's Day, Michael, we love you!

Big News

No, we're not pregnant. But, Mikey started walking yesterday! Don't mind the mess in the video either because we are moving back to California two weeks from today! I guess I should get ready to be busy in more ways than one!

I Have A One-Year-Old

Yes, it's true and almost unbelievable. I am the proud parent of a one-year-old. Even though Mikey won't remember the day, we tried to make it his best day ever. Here are some pics of his big day.

The funny thing about this picture is I'm wearing the shirt I wore when I went into labor with Mikey. I thought it would be nice to wear on the anniversary : )

We started out the day with a walk because Mikey loves to get outside.

He even picked a flower off a bush when we were walking by and gave it to me. He's already a sweetie son.

Then we went to the park before it got too hot. Mikey had so much fun climbing and sliding and playing with mommy and daddy.

We had pizza for lunch and Mikey had his first piece of cheese pizza. As you can see, he loved it.

We went swimming in the afternoon and as you can see, he didn't like it too much unless we were holding him the whole time and there were lots of big kids splashing so we didn't last too long. We basically got the following reaction out of him. Maybe another time.

After a much needed nap we opened presents and ate cake. Mikey enjoyed his presents so much that he didn't even notice the cake.

Mikey loves cars....

And more cars...

Michael had a great time teaching Mikey how to play basketball.

Mikey has been pushing this laundry basket around the house for a couple weeks. We took away his walker because he was just getting mad that it wouldn't turn the way he wanted. This is his new obsession.

It seems to be working though because he took 5 steps a couple times in a row. Still not walking, but we're getting there.

It was a great day and I am so thankful for my cutie Mikey.
